Cway Launch may 19 2023

Woop woop to yet another Cway release 🎈🥁🎈🥁

After Media Center, this time it’s the desktop that’s had a total behind-the-scenes makeover, and we’re very very happy to announce that it looks almost exactly the same!!!!!! 🙌

Why are we so happy about that one might wonder. Well – dev team informs us that it may be the hardest thing ever - naot to ruin what’s already good when updating old stuff to better stuff. 🤷‍♂️

It’s actually really unrewarding that the best upgrades seldom show when we release new versions. That's when we update to the latest tech to make Cway faster, more stable and easier to adapt to your needs. And also when we make stuff that’s already there just a tad easier and more convenient to use. The dev team is pretty tired of never getting praise for this. 😳

With that said, you might notice these grand improvements:

❣️ We've created a funny little dashboard coming in from the left side on the desktop, displaying some success numbers that should make you feel really good about yourself, and also some shortcuts to useful stuff such as tutorials and graphics. It’s a first version and will probably be a lot more pimped already in the next update. We’ll probably post news in the dashboard. Also, we’re happy to hear which lovely Cway statistics we can display that would make you feel even more like the hero that you are. Let us know! 📞

❣️ Do you use the user widget? It’s that window that allows you to drag & drop people on to your artworks to invite them to review (and also share files etc):

We think it’s a great thing, so we’ve made it more accessible – in the top desktop bar. Give it a try!

❣️ If you’re a file supplier, you know how easy it is to drag & drop new files to Cway to create artworks in a project, right? Now you can add category at the same time instead of afterwards. Cway dev team vs annoying double work: 1 – 0 🏆

Other updates:

❣️ We've eliminated the term 'project member' since it's abundant in the new setting. Instead, you are an artwork member with various functions such as supplier, rewiewer etc. You can have different roles in different artwork even in the same project; all this is listed in the 'members' tab in Project. The only roles that apply for the whole project is project orderer and project manager.

❣️ Suppliers now receive an email requesting files when the artwork is unstarted or rejected.

❣️ Customer request: It's now simpler to download only a preview file. Earlier you needed to unclick all other files in a download. Now we've added a 'download preview file' option.

❣️ New top bar with settings and user widget to streamline the dock for apps only and also enable a shorter path to the user widget, as it's central in everyday work in all apps.

❣️ When changing category, favorites are now on top of the list instead of in alphabetical order.

❣️ When creating a project, you're automatically set as project orderer.

❣️ When creating an artwork bundle in Media Center, you can choose file type the same way as you do in 'manage files' in Project.

❣️ You can invalidate artwork comments in Media Center the same way as in Project.

❣️ When scrolling a list and then updating the window, Cway remembers where you were in the list.

As always bugs can occur, give us a shout as soon as you see something that bugs you 🐛

We hope you’ll enjoy this release, stay tuned for more updates
